What happens during a session?

We have a variety of percussion instruments from bass drums to bells to create a carnival Samba Band. When you come our leader will select an instrument that is right for your needs for you to start learning on. Everybody is encouraged to stand during the sessions but you can sit when needed. Everything is taught by ear and we play a variety of rhythmic pieces together, using different rhythms layered over each other, forming a percussion orchestra. We may also do exercises to build on confidence and listening skills. The drumming can be loud so if you do not enjoy loud noises then this is probably not the group for you. We supply ear plugs, instruments and drumsticks.
