We play a variety of rhythmic pieces together, using different rhythms layered over each other, forming a percussion orchestra. We also do exercizes to build on confidence and listening skills.
The drumming can be loud so if you do not enjoy loud noises then this is probably not the group for you. You can consider purchasing ear defenders from your local DIY store for under £5.

Venues and Accessibility
Wednesdays at Holmfirth Tech
As the band has expended its membership we have outgrown our previous home at the Postcard Inn and are now making use of this lovely new community centre at the old adult education building. We use the music room on the lower ground (basement) floor. While the lift is out of action access is recommended via the rear entrance - down the drive to the left of the building then through the door at the back. There is wheelchair access through a particular door but please ring ahead to advise us you need access for a wheelchair so we can ensure the door is open. While the lift is out of action there is currently no wheelchair access to the toilets. You can use the Tech car park at the rear but note the drive is very narrow. |
Thursdays at Denby Dale Methodist Church
We use the function room at the church, straight ahead when you come through the front door. The building has full disabled access with a ramp to the front. Parking is to the rear of the building, accessed via Wesley terrace (not Cumberworth Lane). There is an accessible toilet in the main foyer. |
