Rhythm Stick Drumming is excited to host this whole day drum workshop
In 2014 Jon Halls founded the “Samba Hub” in East Anglia with the aim of enriching the UK Samba community with training from recognised guest tutors from around the UK. It is for Samba enthusiasts who wish to push their boundaries and meet people from other bands in their region.
Jon himself is a band leader and facilitator in traditional Cuban and Brazilian music and also specializes in the theatrical form of Body Percussion. Driven by the ethos of cooperation and social enrichment through music, Jon is well known for his accessible and vibrant teaching style and sophisticated arrangements
Over an impressive 20 year career Jon has developed and facilitated over two thousand community projects and worked internationally with clients such as European Youth Parliament, British Airways (Nairobi) and Glastonbury Festival with his percussive theatre “Hot Ashes”. He has also held the role of Musical Director with UK Centre for Carnival Arts (Suffolk region) and Director of Music in Education for Suffolk School of Samba.
At this event Jon will be delivering fusion grooves based on Brazilian and Cuban rhythms, for Samba drummers. Responsible children also welcome with a participating adult. Tea and biscuits provided! Please bring a vegetarian dish to share for lunch with new friends.
BRING YOUR OWN INSTRUMENT - If you can't then please let us know as spares are available on request
